A Secure Web Gateway (SWG) is a network proxy that intercepts and inspects HTTP and HTTPS traffic from and to protected devices and networks. To inspect HTTPS traffic, the SWG must first decrypt the traffic. Once decrypted, the SWG enforces corporate policies such as (a) URL filtering to ensure objectionable content is not accessed (b) threat protection to ensure risky locations and files are not accessed (c) Data Leakage Prevention to ensure sensitive corporate data is not leaked.
